Fufaton Candy Transitions to Spirulina Extract as a Natural Alternative to E133

Fufaton Candy Transitions to Spirulina Extract as a Natural Alternative to E133

In alignment with our ongoing commitment to product innovation and clean-label principles, Fufaton Candy is proud to announce the replacement of artificial colorant E133 (Brilliant Blue FCF) with natural spirulina extract across selected product lines.

E133, a synthetic dye commonly used in the food industry, has long been a standard for achieving bright blue shades. However, increasing consumer demand for natural and plant-based ingredients has encouraged responsible manufacturers to seek healthier, more sustainable alternatives.

Spirulina extract, derived from blue-green algae (Arthrospira platensis), offers a vivid blue hue without the use of synthetic chemicals. Beyond its eye-catching appearance, spirulina extract is also valued for its clean-label appeal, natural origin, and minimal environmental footprint.

The reformulation will initially apply to products such as marshmallow lollipops, jelly lollipops, and novelty candies, with plans to expand the use of spirulina extract across more lines in the future.

Fufaton Candy continues to invest in natural ingredient innovation while maintaining the vibrant colors, delicious flavors, and playful designs that customers love. This initiative reflects our dedication to “Quality First, Customers Foremost, and Continuous Improvement.”
